This Sat. 3/10 - The JSB @ Mo Pitkins'
Hello friends and confidants,
Come get in out of the cold with The Jones Street Boys this Saturday 3/10, as we join our friends The Basement Band to serve up a double dose of hot countrified fun. If you’ve never heard The Basement Band before you’re in for a treat: tight vocal harmonies, intelligent songwriting, and apparently they’ve brought in a new wringer on pedal steel. Delicious!
We’ll be taking the stage at Mo Pitkins’, a very cool venue in Alphabet City, NYC. Whenever we’ve played there we always have a blast (except poor JB who is secretly dreading this gig - he’s had something in his life go uncomfortably wrong each time we’ve performed there). I keep telling him I’ve read his astrological charts and consulted the Ouija board and they all claim Saturday night is the perfect night for music making. Trouble is, I don’t think he’s buying it. He’s going to need to see your foxy faces and hear your loud applause to convince him there is no black cat waiting in the wings…
Very Superstitious,
The Boys in the Band

Saturday, 3/10 Cover: $8
Mo Pitkin’s – 34 Ave. A (between E. 2nd & 3rd St.), NYC

JSB at Piano's
Hello lovelies,
It's been a while and we're chomping at the bit to see your handsome faces again.
Come join us this Friday, March 2nd as we help our good friends Goes Cube launch their first big tour from the lower east side catapult called Pianos. If you've never seen Goes Cube - good lord get your head out of the sand - you're in for a real treat. The evening should prove to induce mild cases of musical schizophrenia: get there early and enjoy the trip-hop sounds of Philly's Bebek at 10pm, we'll take the stage at 11pm to entertain you with our own ideas of what American music sounds like, and then if you value your hearing pop in those ear plugs and get your rock on with Goes Cube at midnight.
And as if that wasn't enough, there's a weird misshapen (but mad sexy) monster lurching in the wings - JONES CUBE. That's right, we mild mannered but excitable bluegrass geeks are packing up our acoustic instruments and getting out the stomp boxes to take the stage with Goes Cube during their set for a number we've collectively penned for the occasion. You ain't heard nothing like this... Raise your hands if you've ever seen Danny play with a distortion pedal cranked to 11? Yeah, I didn't think so. You don't want to miss this.
Till then,
The JSB
Here's the specs:
Friday 3/2/07
Pianos NYC @ 158 Ludlow (Stanton) - Lower East Side, Manhattan
Tickets: $8
12:00 GOES CUBE
11:00 THE JONES STREET BOYS
10:00 BEBEK

Jones Street Boys vs. Cobble Hillbillies - THIS Saturday (12/16) @ Parkside Lounge
Hey Everyone,
A short time ago in a neighborhood right down the street, Danny and Jonny played in a Brooklyn bluegrass band called the Cobble Hillbillies… The band played around NYC for a few years and “retired” this past May… Well, since it’s the holidays, we wanted to give New York a little gift and the truth is that the guys are pretty restless (especially banjo Ron) so we all decided to do a show together… Each band will play a set and then… ALL shall witness true chaos and destruction as both bands get onstage and churn out a set together – The Cobble Street Jonesbillies BIG BAND!
There will be banjos, mandolins, fiddles, guitars, harmonicas, accordion, organ, piano, drums and 6 singers playing bluegrass tunes of the likes of which you have never heard!!!
Don’t blow this one kids, it’s basically gonna rule…
Details:
12/16 – JSB Vs. Cobble Hillbillies (reunion show) – Parkside Lounge @ 8:30
9:00 – Cobble Hillbillies
10:30 – The Jones Street Boys
11:30 – It’s on – Sets by both bands and then chaos with a total of at least 8 musicians on stage!
- 317 E. Houston St. (south side of Houston bet. B & C at Attorney St.)
- $10
Love,
JSB
